Saturday 11th Oct	Rona Wightman 0930 Start place: Faber Maunsell, Upper Marlborough Road, St Albans, AL1 3UT	Based on national CTC Five Miles to Fabulous the intention of these rides is get women who are nervous of traffic onto the road, by giving them confidence and experience in traffic and also by showing them useful routes for avoiding traffic. Starting 0930h from Faber Maunsell. ‘Regular’ CTC females are most welcome, your assistance to the leader and support of the participants is much appreciated! My tip is, wrap up warm, as the pace will be gentle. We will be heading along the Alban Way to Sleapshyde Methodist Church for refreshments and white elephants. Chaps – the baking is very good, so you may wish to make your own way to this event!

How to Find Where Our Rides Start From

We start most of our Sunday rides from one of the following places, we use the shorthand WM, ACP & WhCP on the program to identify where the ride starts.

All of the Midweek Evening rides start from the War Memorial in Saint Albans.

WM: War Memorial, St. Albans

The war memorial is at the northern end of St. Peters Street, near to the Blacksmiths Arms. If you are using a car to come to the start, please note there is no parking at the War Memorial.

ACP: Adsa Car Park, Hatfield

We meet on east side of the ASDA, Hatfield store by the covered bike parking facilty. If you are using a car to come to the start please do not park in the ASDA car park which has a two hour parking time limit.

WhCP: East Lane Car Park, Wheathampstead

We meet at the entrance to East Lane Car Park. East Lane is a small turning betwen The Bull and Jessamine Garage, both on the High Street Wheathampstead. If you are using a car to come to the start you can park here all day at no charge (please do not park in The Bull car park). Please be aware that East Lane car park has an overhead barrier.

Hertford: Hart Statue, Parliament Sq., Hertford

We have occasional starts from Hertford, meet at the Hart Statue in Parliament Square in Hertford.
