Medal Awards

As a result of declining support for the reliability rides, the Herts DA has decided to drop them from the programme this year. There is still the opportunity to qualify for gold, silver or bronze medals by completing a number of Audax and other events organised by the Herts DA.

These events will include:
26 March - Start of Summertime Audax, 210, 115 or 62 km
18 June - Stevenage Circular Ride, 84 km
13 August - Rough Stuff Ride (details to follow)
3 September - Round County Ride (a new event, details to follow)
17 September - Cecil Cooke Trophy (organised by Stuart Hammond this year)
29 October - Summertime Reversed Audax, 101 km

Medals will be awarded for successfully completing events as follows:
Gold medal - 4 events, including 200 km, 100 km, rough stuff ride and Cecil Cooke Trophy event
Silver medal - 3 events from the above, including 200 km and 100 km
Bronze medal - 3 events, including 100 km

End to end

Stuart Hammond and Richard Stubbs are considering doing the end to end this September. Details are not yet fixed, but is anyone else interested in taking part too? If so, please contact Stuart or Richard and we can discuss details.

Recruitment

We have all noticed that few new riders are coming along to our organised rides. This cannot be a healthy state of affairs, and we need to find ways of attracting new people to our events. As a first step Steve and Richard have produced some publicity posters which we are asking local bike shops and libraries to display. If anyone has any suggestions about any locations that could be approached to show these posters, please contact Richard.
