HERTS NOTEBOOK

Notes from the Section Secretary

A special request from Paul Boielle who is organising this years Stevenage Start of Summertime Special on March 28th; he needs some help marshalling this event. If you are available please contact him and let him know, 01438 356584. By way of a slight carrot all section members riding the event or marshalling will be entitled to Hargreaves points; please advise me if you wish to claim.

A couple of weeks before the 50 (April 25th) I will ride the course to check the route. It would be helpful if one or two others could check it with me to ensure that the published route description is accurate, I will not be attempting to ride the 50 in any particular time. Please let me know if you are interested in checking the route.

We have had a number of changes of stops on the last program; these are made available by email and on the web site. If you have not received a mail from me notifying a change of morning stop for Feb 29th, and would like in future to receive such mails please send me a mail requesting that I add you to the distribution list.

Thank you to the ride leaders, and to Judy & Carol, and probably Jon all who have had a hand in preparing this program. Liz came off her bike in January; I am sure that you will join me in wishing her a speedy recovery. Liz please do not worry we'll still let you lead rides - you just name the date!

Hargreaves Trophy

These are the points up to 15th Feb. Fred is maintaining his lead over his rivals; he has ridden 17 of the possible 20 rides and has only missed out on 8 points. The real interest is will Richard be able to stage a recovery to claim continued custodianship of the cup or will it find a new keeper?
