HERTS NOTEBOOK

Notes from the Section Secretary

Thanks to all members who have volunteered to lead rides and thanks to my team of helpers Judy Alfrey and Carol Brazier; please contact any of us if you have suggestions for a ride or wish to lead one. Some sections have a meeting to sketch out a rides program more quickly than by face to face contact or email. Please let Judy, Carol or myself know if any of you have suggestions for how we can make it easier to create the program.
Three dates for your diaries; the Hilly 30 will be on 7th March, Start of Summertime will be on 28th March and I will be organising the "50" to be held on 25th April. If anyone fancies riding it a week or two before to help me check it out then please let me know nearer the time.
Finally a note about unsafe weather conditions. Rain, wind and fog are not types of weather that rides are normally abandoned for, however we are approaching a time of year when ice or snow may present an unacceptable health and safety risk. It may be possible that some rides are cancelled at the start if the leader feels the conditions are unsafe.

Hargreaves Trophy

Points are totalled up to Dec 14th; Fred is clearly showing a keen interest in winning the Hargreaves cup this season, he could have done better as 33 points were up for grabs. Can he keep his lead up?
